Appointment Coordinator – Urgent Suspected Cancer Clinics (Fast Track Office – Cancer Services, North Bristol NHS Trust)
About the Role
North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) and University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) are merging from July 2026 to create a stronger, more sustainable healthcare organisation. By joining, you will be part of a fast-paced, patient-centric team working towards better outcomes and fairer care.
** Important Transfer Notice**: If you start with NBT before the merger, your contract will auto-transfer to UHBW. Posts after merger will be directly under UHBW terms.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Optimise Urgent Cancer Appointment Scheduling:
- Negotiate urgent cancer clinic appointments via telephone, ensuring compliance to CWT standards, including rescheduling as required.
- Ensure Data Accuracy & System Integration:
- Record and update all relevant patient information on the PAS system.
- Dedicated Contact Point:
- Serve as the main contact for patient and staff enquiries related to Urgent Suspected Cancer Clinics.
- Cross-Cover & Flexibility:
- Maintain flexibility working to cover for colleagues across Cancer Services in times of need.

Technical Proficiency:
- Basic Educational Standard (GCSE or equivalent).
- Experience with Microsoft Office and data entry tasks.

- Exceptional attention to detail and keyboarding ability.
- Capacity to effectively plan workload and problem-solve.
Desirable Experience
preferable but not required:
- Medical Environment Experience (hospitals/healthcare settings).
- E-Referral System Familiarity & Medical Systems Proficiency.

- Qualifies from the minimum pay scale or fulfilments at your NHS Band 8a qualification.
