This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of Belfast’s most recent boutique hotel openings.

Who Are We?

The Bedford Hotel Belfast is a prestigious boutique hotel set within the iconic Scottish Mutual Building in the heart of the city. Home to 82 beautifully appointed bedrooms, The Nineteen Hundred Restaurant and Café Bar, and The Ledger Library private events space, The Bedford Hotel is setting new standards for hospitality in Northern Ireland.

Role Responsibilities

As a Food & Beverage Assistant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day service within The Nineteen Hundred Restaurant and Café Bar, ensuring exceptional service standards are delivered and always maintained in line with our guest expectations.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a warm, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring guests receive a high standard of service throughout their dining experience, responding promptly and professionally to their needs.
  • Assist with the daily set up and close down of the restaurant and bar, ensuring they are fully prepared for service.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all food and beverage offerings, including menus, specials, ingredients, and allergens to confidently answer guest enquiries and make recommendations.
  • Take food and beverage orders and ensure that orders are communicated to the kitchen and bar promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure that the preparation and presentation of each section is of a high standard and is in line with the standards set.
  • Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety within front-of-house and back-of-house areas at all times.
  • Ensure all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out in line with agreed procedures.
  • Prepare all back of house service points with regard to expected numbers for breakfast, lunch or dinner requirements as necessary.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with all departments in the hotel.

Key Requirements

  • Previous Food & Beverage experience, preferably within a hotel environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional manner.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering excellent guest experiences.
