The Courtyard by Marriott hotel Sandy Park, Exeter is a hotel which opened in 2022 and is uniquely positioned next to the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Stadium with 250 bedrooms. Whether you are a rugby fan or not – this is a destination for talent spotting.
The View; A completely unique rooftop restaurant & bar venue offering locally sourced fresh produce in Exeter. Distinctly visible from far distances and is synonymous with the service experience provided, it features elegant and spacious seating in a contemporary design.
Kitchen & Bistro; Located on our 3rd floor, this more relaxed dining option caters for the business guests all day and offers simple dishes using the best local ingredients Devon has to offer.
As well as our 2 culinary offerings, we cater for meetings and events whilst hosting elite sports teams, along with bespoke celebrations.
At Courtyard by Marriott, we are committed to creating an inviting and comfortable experience for every guest. As a Breakfast Server, you will play a key role in delivering a seamless and welcoming start to the day through professional, attentive buffet service.
This position would be working on our 8th floor mainly, this could be a breakfast shift ensuring guests have a great morning before they start the day making sure quality standards are met and providing friendly, engaging service that reflects our “Take Care” culture. You may be working a lunch or dinner shift with the team, when we offer The View menu which focuses on local produce prepared in the best way by our experienced kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Provide a warm, genuine welcome to all guests, creating a positive first impression of the day
- Deliver attentive, personalised service, anticipating guest needs and responding promptly
- Assist guests with breakfast options, dietary requirements, and general enquiries
- Maintain a visible and approachable presence throughout service
Cleanliness & Food Safety
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised breakfast area at all times
- Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently during service
- Follow all food hygiene and health & safety procedures in line with company and legal standards
- Ensure all equipment and service areas are cleaned and reset after service
Operational Support
- Assist with food preparation tasks (e.g. cold buffet items, basic breakfast setup)
- Monitor stock levels and communicate requirements to the supervisor
- Complete opening and closing duties, including buffet breakdown
- Support wider F&B operations as required

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in hospitality or food service is desirable
- A passion for delivering excellent guest service
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Knowledge of food hygiene practices is preferred
