Features Editor

The role:

Monocle is looking for an experienced Features Editor to help shape our editorial agenda across print, digital, audio and books.

This is an exciting opportunity for a curious, globally minded editor with outstanding editorial judgement and a talent for uncovering original stories. Working across international affairs, business, design, culture, travel, fashion and more, you'll commission distinctive journalism that reflects Monocle's unique perspective and broad editorial ambition.

We're looking for someone who thrives on ideas. You'll spot stories before they become obvious, identify new voices and contributors, and work closely with our writers and editors to produce thoughtful, intelligent journalism across every Monocle platform. Whether commissioning a feature for the magazine, developing a newsletter, shaping a radio programme or contributing to a book or special publication, you'll play a central role in defining our editorial output.

This is a highly collaborative position. You'll work closely with colleagues across our editorial and commercial teams, mentor junior journalists, help expand Monocle's global contributor network and ensure every story meets the high editorial standards our readers expect.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
