Requirements

IT Pro is part of Future B2B IT, which also includes Actual Tech Media and SmartBrief Tech & Leadership. Future's wider B2B portfolio includes AV Tech, M&E, wider SmartBrief, and Tech & Learning.

As Features and Special Projects Editor, you will manage the long-form output on ITPro. This includes commissioning internal and external writers, planning publication schedules, editing, and promoting audience engagement to this content. You will work with other team members to ensure long-form content has maximum effect. You will maximise the content's reach through multiple channels, including SEO, LLMs, direct traffic, newsletters, social media, and more. You will assist with commercial and special project-related tasks as requested by your line manager/partners. This includes working with other teams to develop commercial content campaign ideas and delivery (traditional content and multimedia), and creating audience surveys and research reports, and more. Lastly, you will represent the brand at industry events. At these events, you will interview industry experts and reporting on important trends. You will share your insights by creating different content types, including news, long-form content, reviews, and other content types, such as video, podcasts, and updates.

What You'll Do

  • You will report to the Global Content Director, B2B IT
  • Use knowledge of the tech industry, strategy, and competition/industry to create exciting and engaging long-form content across multiple platforms and distribution channels
  • Ensure the brand position and editorial voice for long-form content remains important. Follow Future's ESG around fake news and misinformation
  • Work with management, tech, development, and audience teams to develop the most compelling long-form content opportunities for IT Pro/B2B
  • Assist the senior editorial team in developing a successful B2B long-form content portfolio
  • Help deliver commercial partnerships through high-trafficked long-form and custom content
  • Assist partners with reactive and proactive ideas generation that is both news-related and news adjacent to the benefit of our audience and commercial partners
  • Use knowledge of the tech industry, strategy, and competition to help develop a portfolio sell for both audience and commercial
