Lecturer in Multi Trades based across South Wales

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: £40 to £45 per hour

Are you an experienced construction professional looking to step into education, or an established lecturer ready for your next opportunity?

Aspire People are working in partnership with Further Education providers across South Wales to recruit a Lecturer in Multi Trades. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople, supporting learners to gain practical skills, achieve qualifications, and progress into employment.

The Role

Working Within a Construction Department, You Will

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and learning across Multi Trades programmes
  • Plan and deliver practical workshop sessions that reflect real industry standards
  • Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Support learners in setting and achieving individual goals
  • Act as a personal tutor, offering both academic and pastoral guidance
  • Work with students who may have behavioural or additional learning needs
  • Monitor attendance, progress, and achievement, maintaining accurate records
  • Liaise with employers, parents, and external stakeholders where required
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement
  • Embed English and maths skills into vocational teaching

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant construction or multi-trade discipline
  • Level 2 English and Maths
  • Strong industry experience within construction or multi-trade environments
  • Experience supporting learners, apprentices, or trainees
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners from a range of backgrounds
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A teaching qualification (Level 4/5) is desirable (support may be available)
  • Experience working with learners with SEN/ALN or behavioural needs is beneficial

  • Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Support learners in setting and achieving individual goals
  • Act as a personal tutor, offering both academic and pastoral guidance
  • Work with students who may have behavioural or additional learning needs
  • Monitor attendance, progress, and achievement, maintaining accurate records
  • Promote positive behaviour and high expectations within the classroom
  • Contribute to learner progression into higher education, apprenticeships or employment

What We're Looking For

  • Relevant degree, vocational qualification or strong industry experience within your subject area
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE/PCET, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) desirable
  • Experience supporting learners, apprentices or trainees within FE or post-16 settings
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners from a range of backgrounds
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience working with learners who have SEN/ALN or behavioural needs is beneficial
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is required
