Feilden Fowles is an award-winning architecture practice based in Waterloo, London, founded in 2009 by Fergus Feilden and Edmund Fowles. Our team of 30+ delivers innovative projects across Education, Arts & Culture, Workplace, and Heritage in a dynamic, inclusive, award-winning workspace that blends state-of-the-art studios with a lush garden setting.


The Role

Feilden Fowles is scaling up our team due to high workload demands and upcoming projects. We are recruiting talented Architects and Senior Architects with:

  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in practice.
  • Experience across multiple sectors and project scales.
  • Proficiency in all RIBA work stages, with strong Stage 5 construction-phase credentials.
  • Essential: Expertise in Revit; high-level technical detailing and creative problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities (Key duties – duties may expand based on experience)

Project Leadership & Collaboration

  • Contribute effectively to high-quality design outcomes across mixed-scale projects.
  • Lead project teams (where appropriate) for varied-scale initiatives, serving as the primary point of contact for internal/external queries.
  • Mentor junior team members, championing professional growth and collaboration.
  • Support technical detailing and documentation, co-ordinating input for tenders and construction packages.

Communication & Project Coordination

  • Assist or lead consultant, client, and construction stakeholder engagement.
  • Prepare meeting materials for project, design, and client discussions while fostering transparent relationships.
  • Work with Directors/Associates to manage scope, time, and resources efficiently.

Studio Culture & Development

  • Uphold professional conduct, maintaining compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Support file organisation, QMS compliance, and bid submissions.
  • Contribute to studio identity, low-tech philosophy, and a positive, inclusive work environment.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Design Excellence: Creative problem-solver with strong visualisation/presentation skills.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Revit (essential); familiarity with SketchUp, V-Ray, or Enscape (advantageous).
    • 2D/3D modelling, traditional and digital media (Photoshop/InDesign).
  • Project Management: Knowledge of RIBA stages, construction processes, site coordination (Stage 5), and planning/regulatory frameworks.
  • Software: Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign/Photoshop preferred); Revit essential.

Person Specification

  • Problem Solver: Self-motivated, faced with complex challenges.
  • Collaborator: Thrives in a aligned, focused team; must embody studio values.
  • UK Eligibility: Must be permitted to work in the UK.
