Are you a warm and caring person looking for a meaningful career?
The Move On & Activities Support Worker for South Manchester mental health services, primarily based in our Lone parent service in Wythenshawe, plays a key role in supporting people to move on successfully from supported or temporary accommodation into sustainable, independent housing, while promoting wellbeing, independence, and meaningful community connection.
The role is strongly focused on active move on work, supporting individuals and households to explore all appropriate housing options, secure tenancies, and develop the skills and confidence that they have gained in the supported living setting and use this into more independence in the community. Some transition support to enable people to settle successfully and sustain their homes may be beneficial to some tenants and families moving on.
Alongside housing-related support, the post holder will plan and deliver activities and community-based opportunities that reduce isolation, build confidence, encourage positive routines, and support people to live fulfilling and connected lives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
