About the Employer
As a 39-year-old woman with complex health needs—including:
- Autism
- Mental health challenges
- Multiple chronic physical illnesses (having mild-moderate impact on mobility)
I’m a creative Christian with passions for:
- Music & art
- Crochet
- Swimming & cycling (keeping active within my body’s limitations)
I need a Patient Assistant (PA) to help me live autonomously in the community, regain control of my ability to function independently, and improve my quality of life. While familiarity with autism, physical & mental health needs is highly valued, it’s not mandatory.
Key requirements:
- Flexible working arrangements (days/hours can be negotiated at interview).
- Induction and ongoing training provided as needed.

About the Role
This is a Patient Assistant (PA) role focused on fostering independence, dignity, and personal growth for a complex case requiring holistic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care:
- Assistance or prompting with toileting, showering/bathing, bed transfer, and getting dressed.
- Daily Living:
- Cooking/meal prep, meal support, and drink assistance.
- Help with household chores and homemaking tasks.
- Food shopping and budgeting-related needs.
- Medical/Administrative:
- Accompanying to appointments (doctors, specialists, hospitals).
- Support to maintain home paperwork and correspondence (e.g. benefit forms).
- Well-being & Independence:
- Encouraging and organising leisure/sports activities suited to individual capabilities.
- Promoting social connections and friendship-building.
- Trust & Partnership:
- Build a collaborative, trusting one-to-one working relationship.

- 30 hours per month (applying to flexible shifts, with dates/times discussed at interview).
