Fibre Engineer (Call-Outs)

About Us
EDT is a dynamic and growing company specialising in fibre optic networks. We’re looking for a skilled and dedicated Fibre Engineer focused on call-out services and fault-finding.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to call-outs, diagnosing and repairing fibre optic faults efficiently.
- Apply troubleshooting skills to quickly locate and resolve network issues.
- Maintain detailed records of all work completed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality service.
- Strict adherence to safety and quality standards at all times.
- Strong working knowledge of OTDR test equipment essential.

Requirements
- Proven experience in fibre optics installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent fault-finding skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Must have on-call availability, including flexible working hours.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities required.
- Experience handling small cable pulling and installation/damage replacements.
- Valid documents:
- Street Works Card
- SA002
- Smart Awards Card
- First Aid at Work certification
- Valid full UK driver’s licence with fewer than 6 points (age over 30 preferred, but will accommodate under 30 for the right candidate).
- Proficiency with hand-tools.

- Day rate: £180–£200+ (negotiable based on experience).

The role requires an engineer to troubleshoot site faults, finding the fault location, and recommending solutions to restore customer connections.
The Fibre Engineer will take a lead role, supported by a small team.
