Join our Fibre Engineering Team
We are recruiting experienced Fibre Engineers to support the expansion and maintenance of full fibre telecoms networks across London and the South East. This role is ideal for engineers with experience working on Openreach infrastructure and full fibre networks who can work independently, delivering high-quality fibre splicing, network build, and customer connections.
The Role
Typical duties include:
- Fibre splicing on live fibre optic networks.
- Splicing new cables into existing network infrastructure.
- Building new fibre joints (CMJs).
- Installing Passive Building Optical (PBO) equipment.
- Working within underground chambers and joint boxes.
- Installing and maintaining AFNs mounted on Openreach poles.
- Splicing splitter nodes within MDU buildings.
- Installing and commissioning internal customer services where required.
- Testing and fault-finding using OTDR, light source, and power meter equipment.
- Completing testing records and job documentation.
- Working safely on live fibre infrastructure.

A key aspect of this role is the ability to investigate situations where there is no light present at the designated pick-up point. Successful candidates will be capable of tracing the existing network, locating previous joints or splitter locations, and identifying the correct routing to restore the light path and complete the installation.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience working on full fibre network builds.
- Fibre splicing on live fibre networks.
- Construction of fibre joints (CMJs).
- Installation of PBO equipment.
- Experience working within underground chambers.
- Experience working on Openreach pole infrastructure.
- Good understanding of fibre splitter architecture.
- Ability to locate faults and identify missing light paths.
- Experience reading network drawings and as-built records.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to quality and detail.

- Internal customer installations.
- ONT installation and commissioning.
- Customer service experience.
- Fault diagnosis and network restoration.
- OTDR testing and fibre certification.
Essential Qualifications
- NRSWA Accreditation.
- Relevant Openreach Accreditations.
- Openreach Pole Climbing Accreditation.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
