Fibreglass Finisher
At Mould Ability, we manufacture high-quality GRP products for customers across a diverse range of industries throughout the UK. We're looking for a skilled and motivated GRP Fibreglass Finisher to join our experienced team.
As a Fibreglass Finisher, you'll be the final pair of hands on every component before it leaves our workshop. Your attention to detail and pride in your work will ensure everything we manufacture meets the high standards our customers expect. With a varied workload and a wide range of projects, this is a role that offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to develop your skills.
Key responsibilities
- Hand-finish GRP fibreglass components to the required quality standards.
- Use air and powered cutting tools safely and effectively.
- Sand, polish and finish components using a range of abrasives and polishing equipment.
- Identify lamination defects and carry out repairs where required.
- Assemble finished components in line with work instructions.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure finished products meet customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production deadlines.

Skills and experience
Essential
- A positive, reliable and hardworking attitude.
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Willingness to learn and follow safe working practices.
Desirable
- Previous experience as a GRP Fibreglass Finisher or in a similar composites manufacturing role.
- Experience using air tools, power tools and polishing equipment.
- Experience identifying and repairing GRP lamination defects.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable; however, we also welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills and a willingness to learn, as full training can be provided for the right individual.

Mould Ability is a family-run specialist manufacturer established in 2004. We design and manufacture high-quality GRP composite components for customers across a wide range of industries throughout the UK. We're proud of our reputation for quality, craftsmanship and problem-solving, and we approach every project with the belief that no challenge is too complex.
Location and working hours
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Chesterfield workshop, conveniently located close to Junctions 29A and 30 of the M1.
Working hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
Overtime is available and paid at an enhanced rate.
