FID eRates Sales – Associate

Department Overview

The Fixed Income Division (FID) comprises Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products, Securitized Products, and Municipal Securities. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure and execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and ever-changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader in energy, metals, and agricultural product trading worldwide, specialising in both physical and derivative commodity risk management.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Drive the growth of the electronic Rates sales business across all client segments and products, collaborating with trading, e-strats, and distribution teams.
  • Act as a key interface between clients and internal stakeholders (e.g., Trading, e-strats, and Technology) to deliver electronic execution solutions.
  • Analyze e-trading performance, client behavior, and market structure, identifying trends, opportunities, and anomalies while proactively driving revenue generation.
  • Develop and manage client analytics, dashboards, and performance metrics to optimize the electronic trading franchise and support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee client tiering frameworks via data-driven analysis and collaboration with Sales & Trading leadership.
  • Support client onboarding and growth across electronic venues (e.g., Bloomberg, Tradeweb), including pipeline management and process improvements.
  • Partner with technology teams to enhance automation, infrastructure, and analytics within the eRates business.
  • Contribute to the development of new business metrics and tools in collaboration with e-strats to scale the electronic platform.
  • Provide a solutions-oriented approach to clients, educating them on products, electronic execution, and market structure—focusing beyond pure relationship management.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in Fixed Income at a Tier 1 institution, ideally with exposure to Rates e-trading.
  • Strong understanding of electronic execution workflows, platforms, and liquidity dynamics (e.g., RFQ, streaming, algo execution).
  • Proficient knowledge of fixed income instruments, with an interest in Rates and adjacent areas such as FX.
  • Highly analytical mindset, capable of interpreting complex datasets and translating insights into commercial opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or KDB+/Q, with the ability to conduct ad hoc analysis and support automation.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with VBA/macros or similar tools for data analysis and process efficiency.
  • Experience building or working with client analytics, dashboards, or performance metrics.
  • Solid understanding of market structure and electronic trading ecosystems.
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; an MBA or equivalent is preferable.
  • Commercial and collaborative mindset, adept at working with Trading, Technology, and clients to deliver solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex concepts to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial attitude, focusing on platform growth and improving client engagement.
