As a Fiduciary Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for the accounting and settlement duties through the investigation and resolution of aged and complex matters within our Fiduciary Team.
📍 Location: Witham, hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days on-site)
About the Role
This position offers the opportunity to work within our Client Support Services department, contributing to the overall resolution of complex insurance or reinsurance settlements, while supporting root cause analysis, process improvements, and client resolution strategies.
We welcome applications from candidates across various roles within reinsurance or insurance, but significant accounting and settlement experience is essential.
What You’ll Do
You will take responsibility for the following key tasks:

Investigation & Resolution
- Lead and manage the accounting and settlement for aged and complex matters, including legacy claims, premium adjustments, and recovery processing.
- Partner with Operations Specialists to conduct root cause analyses and implement improved protocols to prevent future issues.

Transaction & Cash Follow-Up
- Assess reinsurance coverage, process premiums/loss transactions, and handle fund disbursements accurately.

Audit & Compliance
- Ensure a clear audit trail for all work undertaken, particularly in complex/historic cases.
- Develop and maintain working papers supporting investigative findings, such as reserve evaluations and credit write-back policy applications.

Collaboration & Communication
- Liaise effectively with CSS and Client Facing Teams to ensure smooth coordinated resolution of client issues.
- Manage relationships with complex client bases, overseeing transactional processing, recovery securing, and reinsurance reporting requirements.

- Support & Engagement
- Assist with quarterly financial exposure reviews and key performance targets, contributing to strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Always prioritise meaningful resolutions to ensure client and CSS satisfaction.
- Manage autonomy while escalating complex cases to senior colleagues as required.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, with a sharp focus on accounts reconciliation and dispute resolution.
- Apply technical expertise in claims settlements, financial auditing, and policy compliance.
What You’ll Need
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong Bureau, Accounts & Settlement knowledge.
- Proficiency in Open Twins, CLASS, and/or IMR Systems is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with financial reporting and reinsurance structures essential.
- Experience & Leadership:
- Proven track record in client account management, stakeholder engagement, and execution under tight deadlines.
- Experience managing complex workflows and setting clear expectations for clients and internal teams.
- Analytical & Data Skills:
- Strong ability in data analysis, trend identification, and informed decision-making.
What Makes You Stand Out?
Ideal candidates will have:
✔ Advanced experience in insurance or reinsurance accounting or settlements (8+ years preferred). ✔ Background in multi-currency workflows and working across global-regulated markets. ✔ Experience in mentoring/coaching colleagues, improving process efficiency, and driving behavioural change. ✔ Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling explainable, transparent accounting practices.
