Account Manager | Customer Partnerships | Existing Portfolio | Field-Based
At Safetykleen, we’re looking for an Account Manager to take ownership of an existing customer portfolio across a territory spanning Wigan to Newcastle. Working out in the field and on-site to strengthen relationships, protect revenue and create long-term value for our customers and our business.

As an Account Manager, you won’t simply “check in” with customers. You’ll understand what matters to them, identify risks early, lead effective renewal conversations and solve problems before they affect the relationship. You’ll also uncover relevant opportunities to introduce additional services that genuinely support their business.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Build trusted relationships through regular field visits, meaningful account reviews and purposeful follow-up.
- Understand each customer’s business, site needs, service expectations, decision-making process and future priorities.
- Identify customers at risk through feedback, service history, pricing, reduced engagement or competitor activity, taking early action to prevent avoidable cancellations.
- Lead confident commercial conversations around service, renewals, pricing, contracts and future requirements.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and work with branch, service, customer service, credit control and sales teams to ensure actions are followed through.
- Keep customers updated on progress and escalate significant or recurring issues with clear context, recommended actions and an understanding of the commercial impact.
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional products or services where they genuinely support the customer and strengthen the relationship.
- Prioritise your time and field activity around customers with the greatest value, risk or opportunity.
- Use customer feedback and account insight to improve the customer experience.
- Keep CRM records accurate so activity, commitments, opportunities, renewals, risks and account health are clearly visible.
- Provide clear updates on retention activity, renewal risk, customer trends and growth opportunities.
- Deliver agreed targets linked to customer retention, renewals, engagement, account reviews, CRM accuracy and overall portfolio performance.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who combines commercial confidence, customer care and strong account ownership.
You may already be an Account Manager, Customer Success Manager, Customer Relationship Manager, Territory Account Manager, Field Sales Executive or similar.
You’ll bring:
- Experience managing and retaining an existing portfolio of customer accounts.
- Strong relationship-building skills with decision-makers and operational contacts.
- Strong commercial, negotiation and influencing skills, with the confidence to handle pricing, renewals, contract discussions and customer objections.
- The ability to identify customer risks, resolve challenges and uncover relevant opportunities to grow existing accounts.
- A proactive, organised and self-managed approach, with the ability to prioritise activity according to customer value and risk.
- Good CRM discipline and the ability to maintain clear visibility of account activity and performance.
- A valid clean UK driving licence.
