Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Warwick for a Field Application Engineer – Customer Projects. In this role, you will provide technical support for customer projects, engaging closely with engineering teams to deliver tailored hardware and software solutions. The responsibilities will include conducting technical discussions, implementing and troubleshooting applications, and collaborating with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in ensuring seamless integration of dSPACE's solutions into various customer systems.

Your Responsibilities

  • Coordinate customer projects, managing work packages, budget scope, deliverables, and communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Support project planning and execution, ensuring technical solutions align with customer requirements, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare clear project reports, highlighting risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance and input during customer consultations and support activities.
  • Support customers with the implementation and configuration of automotive communication systems (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet) using dSPACE platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to analyse and optimise vehicle-level simulation.
  • Assist in the setup of communication networks within Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) environments.
  • Contribute to the development of internal test and demonstration systems.
  • Stay up to date with emerging automotive developments, architectures, and communication standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automotive, or Computer Science Engineering (MSc preferred).
  • Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols – CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with HIL/SIL solutions (e.g. dSPACE, Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, ETAS, Synopsys Silver or similar).
  • Good understanding of embedded systems and ECU testing strategies.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer interaction skills.
  • A self-motivated problem solver with curiosity and initiative.
  • Based near Warwick, with willingness to travel occasionally across the UK and Europe.
  • Ability to drive to customer sites.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in project coordination or technical project management within automotive or complex technology delivery.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance processes in automotive development.
  • Experience contributing to customer-facing demonstrations or technical workshops.
