Job Summary

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) will be part of a growing, dynamic, highly-focused team responsible for developing new or existing opportunities in the global IT market. The FAE will be required to work with customers from ground to executive-level, manage projects hand in hand with internal and external teams, and help grow the business whenever possible. Customer and solution focus, are two key factors for this position, as well as business continuity and support. The FAE must work with multiple departments to ensure new projects and existing projects are initiated or maintained towards customer requirements.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide technical pre-sales and occasional post-sales assistance to customers.
  • Enrich the Supermicro offering by evangelizing technology and Supermicro portfolio within enterprise customers.
  • Assist with technical support escalation, and pre-sales queries.
  • Be the trusted advisor within specific customer base, engaging at all levels within customers, up to C-Suite.
  • Manage and develop leads from a technical capability standpoint.
  • Deliver POC to end-users, and manage POCs end to end.
  • Ability to investigate and work around issues.
  • Deliver training to customers and end-users on new product offerings and roadmaps.
  • Assist internal sales with training, occasional exhibitions and regular meetings.

  • A degree in related field desirable but not necessary. A degree can be offset by relevant experience.
  • 5+ years relevant experience within IT, specifically within Compute, Storage, and/or Networking.
  • Good solution design and diagnostic skills.
  • Familiarity and experience with range of Operating Systems, Storage Software, and/or Network Operating Systems would be beneficial.
  • Strong background with compute and storage hardware and architecture desired.
  • Good ability to present and communicate ideas and solutions to a wide range of client type.
