Role Summary

As a Field Application Engineer (FAE), you will manage your territory and region as your own, solving technical challenges and aiding customers in making the right decisions for their projects. In this role, you'll leverage your technical expertise to support customers, identify their needs, and recommend innovative solutions that drive sales growth.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Handling complex technical projects from initial concept to production
  • Generating maximum design wins across supported technologies and supplier registrations
  • Performing research and development aligned with customer needs

An ideal candidate will have experience with:

  • Programmable logic and x86–based solutions, including FPGA and adaptive SoC architectures
  • High-speed interfaces and embedded processing
  • Customer-facing technical roles
  • Toolchain-driven design flows
  • Close collaboration with sales and engineering teams

In This Role, You Will

Strategic & Sales-Driven Responsibilities

  • Execute proactive technical sales strategies across assigned accounts
  • Introduce emerging technologies, products, and architectures driving design decisions
  • Collaborate in supplier/customer design reviews

Technical & Analytical Duties

  • Build long-term relationships with key technical stakeholders
  • Align with customer product roadmaps, design cycles, and technology needs
  • Pre- and post-sales technical guidance for successful design outcomes
  • Evaluate and track major design opportunities from concept to production
  • Effectively utilise supplier resources to maximize design wins
  • Promote supported product lines and adoption of recommended solutions

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

  • Partner with sales colleagues, aligning strategy and securing business
  • Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions for the commercial team
  • Create compelling technical presentations and support materials
  • Track industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies
  • Maintain certifications and stay current with technical training

To be considered successful, you should demonstrate:

  • Strong grasp of customer design processes, product lifecycles, and system-level architecture
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into actionable technical recommendations
  • Skilled networking to forge long-term partnerships with engineering teams and technical influencers
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering, technical sales, or design support
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical expertise
  • Exceptional communication skills (clear explanations of complex concepts for both technical and commercial audiences)
  • Capacity for independent operation, planning, and project leadership
