Field Application Specialist – ATCC Portfolio (Midlands Territory)

Job Description
You will play a central role in selling ATCC’s portfolio of cell lines, cell models, microorganisms, and associated platforms within a defined territory to meet – and exceed – revenue targets. Your success lies in technical collaboration, high-value project development, and strong commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities

Revenue & PerformanceTargets
- Achieve or exceed regional and portfolio revenue goals by designing and executing a customised business plan.
- Identify, progress, and close high-value opportunities across targeted customer segments or product categories.

Collaboration & Accountability
- Provide accurate business forecasts for portfolio performance.
- Build open, high-performing relationships with:
- Inside sales teams
- Cross-functional teams (marketing, technical support, supply chain, customer service)
- Train and enable the broader LGC salesforce to maximise ATCC portfolio visibility and revenue potential through peer-to-peer collaboration.
- Align with ATCC’s commercial team to enhance customer experience and revenue generation.

Expertise & Outreach
- Develop a deep technical and commercial understanding of ATCC’s offerings and market-leading competitors.
- Deliver high-impact engagement including:
- Technical seminars and workshops
- Trade shows, conferences, and product demonstrations
- Conduct market sensing to anticipate industry shifts (funding trends, regulatory changes, customer needs).

Operational Excellence
- Maintain up-to-date regional prospect lists in LGC’s CRM system.
- Ensure full ownership of opportunities—tracking, updating, and prioritising pipelines to deliver full visibility.
- Attend all sales training, meetings, and LGC-mandated courses.
- Proactively expand knowledge to stay ahead in a dynamic field.

Ideal Candidate Requirements
Experience & Education
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in:
- Cell Biology
- Biology
- Molecular Biology
- Biochemistry (A PhD is considered a significant plus)
- Minimum two years in professional sales within the life sciences industry.
- Hands-on experience with cell culture, lab protocols, or reputable biorepository solutions.
- Familiarity with large matrix organisations (ability to navigate complexity and collaboration).
Soft Skills & Abilities
- English proficiency (in spoken and written communication).
- High travel readiness – Prepared to spend a significant portion of time on the road visiting customers and events.
- CRM & Tech Savvy – Proficiency with commercial tools and ease with digital systems.
- Driving license (ongoing travel obligations).
