Field-Based Technical Training Instructor
Location: Field-based with occasional travel to our Learning Academy in Milton Keynes (Scania UK Learning Academy), including interim travel to Loughborough
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: £50,000+ (starting salary)

Summary
Scania GB is seeking a Field-Based Technical Training Instructor to join our People Development Team. The ideal candidate will bring an automotive technical background, strong classroom skills, and a passion for developing colleagues, ensuring high transfer of knowledge, competence, and customer satisfaction.
This role entails:
- Delivering technical training both regionally (across UK branches) and at our new state-of-the-art Academy in Milton Keynes (launching September 2026), with interim travel to Loughborough until then.
- Operating a blended learning model, covering Face-to-Face, remote, and practical/hands-on delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Development
- Design and deliver comprehensive automotive technical courses, ensuring tailored content for diverse learners.
- Apply varied training methodologies (hands-on, digital, group exercises) to engage all delegates.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive technologies, industry trends, and training best practices.
- Provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and technical guidance to develop learners’ problem-solving skills.

✔ Passion for Training & Development – Commitment to colleague growth. ✔ Coaching Ability – Proven track record in mentoring technical environments. ✔ Team Player – Ability to thrive in a collaborative, learning-centred culture. ✔ Clear Communication – Strong stakeholder interaction, both passive and active listening. ✔ Technical Expertise – Hands-on experience as a technician, including automotive/engineering. ✔ Ability to Pivot into Training – Willingness to transition career paths to Technical Training. (Note: HGV experience preferred but not essential)
