Company Description
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay: £200 a week on-call (£20 Monday - Friday and £50 sat £50 sun)
Shifts: full-time, part-time, evenings, weekends
Driver required: Yes - full UK licence and access to your own vehicle

Job Description
As a Senior Care Assistant (On-Call), no two shifts are the same. You'll be the first point of support for care staff, service users, and the wider team, helping ensure safe, high-quality care is delivered whenever it's needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of exceptional person-centred care across the community
- Responding to on-call issues, providing guidance and practical support to Care Assistants
- Completing care assessments, reviews, and risk assessments to ensure care remains safe and effective
- Working closely with Care Coordinators to manage care worker rotas and respond to last-minute changes or emergencies
- Conducting regular reviews of service users' needs and updating care plans where required
- Participating in multi-disciplinary reviews to ensure the best outcomes for service users
- Shadowing and mentoring new Care Assistants, helping them build confidence and competence
- Observing and evaluating care practice, providing coaching and feedback to maintain high standards
- Delivering personal care with dignity, compassion, and respect when required
- Completing accurate records and essential administrative tasks to support care delivery, compliance, and service quality
- Escalating safeguarding, clinical, or operational concerns appropriately and taking prompt action when needed
- Acting as a reliable point of contact during out-of-hours periods, ensuring continuity of care and supporting both staff and service users

Senior Care Assistants spend the majority of their time working within the community, providing hands-on support while also assisting with office-based duties and on-call coordination as required. Flexibility, sound judgement, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential in this rewarding role.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, organised, and able to remain calm under pressure. As an On-Call Senior Care Assistant, you'll be confident making decisions, supporting colleagues, and responding to changing situations while always putting the people we support first.
You'll ideally have experience in:
- Completing initial and ongoing risk and needs assessments for service users in their own homes, hospitals, residential, or nursing settings
- Delivering and promoting safe, high-quality, person-centred care
- Working collaboratively with service users, their families, carers, advocates, healthcare professionals, and other agencies to ensure seamless care and positive outcomes
- Supporting, mentoring, and supervising Care Assistants to maintain high standards of care
- Reviewing care plans and responding appropriately to changes in service users' needs
- Communicating confidently and professionally with a wide range of people, particularly when coordinating care or managing urgent situations
- Using sound judgement to prioritise tasks, solve problems, and make informed decisions, especially during on-call or out-of-hours shifts
- Maintaining accurate records and completing care-related administration to a high standard
