Role Overview
A Field Deployment Engineer is a customer-facing technical specialist responsible for deploying, integrating, and supporting advanced sensor and surveillance systems in operational environments. Working directly at customer sites across the UK and internationally, the role ensures that sensors, communications equipment, edge computing platforms, and supporting software are successfully installed, configured, and brought into service.
As the operational face of the business, the Field Deployment Engineer works closely with customers and end users to deliver reliable, field-ready capability and provide technical support throughout the deployment lifecycle.

Responsibilities
- Deploy, install, configure, and commission sensor and surveillance systems at customer sites.
- Integrate hardware, software, networking, and communications systems.
- Conduct hands-on assembly, wiring, mounting, cabling, and equipment installation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in field environments.
- Support trials, demonstrations, customer acceptance, and operational deployments.
- Act as the primary on-site technical representative and customer point of contact.
- Gather user feedback and support continuous product improvement.
- Produce deployment and technical documentation.

Skills & Experience
- Experience deploying and supporting technical systems in field environments.
- Strong hands-on installation, wiring, cabling, and system integration skills.
- Knowledge of sensors, surveillance systems, communications equipment, or edge computing platforms.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows systems.
- Understanding of IP networking and communications technologies.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to travel regularly.
