Role Description
This is a contract, on-site Field Engineer role based in Glasgow. The Field Engineer will perform installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of telecom and related network equipment at customer sites.

Responsibilities

- Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of telecom and related network equipment at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot hardware and network issues.
- Perform routine inspections.
- Document work completed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and company standards.
- Coordinate with project managers and other engineers.
- Provide technical updates.
- Support network upgrades and change activities.
The Field Engineer is expected to deliver reliable, timely service and maintain a professional relationship with customers and partners on site.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in telecom or network engineering, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance of network or infrastructure equipment.
- Skills in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting, using test tools, interpreting technical documentation, and resolving on-site issues efficiently.
- Abilities in following health and safety standards, working at customer sites, and adhering to relevant regulatory and company procedures.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project teams, customers, and vendors, including clear reporting and documentation.
- Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in the field.
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., degree or vocational certification in telecommunications, electrical, or electronic engineering) is beneficial.
- Previous experience as a field engineer or similar role in telecom, IT, or infrastructure environments is highly advantageous.
- A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to various local sites as required are beneficial.
