About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Field Engineer with strong cabling experience to join our growing technical team. This role will involve regular customer site visits, providing onsite IT support, carrying out structured cabling installations, and assisting with infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, have excellent troubleshooting skills, and take pride in delivering a high standard of service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite IT support to customers across a range of environments.
- Install, terminate, test, and label structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, and fibre).
- Install and configure network equipment, including switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
- Carry out workstation, laptop, printer, and peripheral installations.
- Assist with office moves, new site setups, and infrastructure projects.
- Perform hardware upgrades and replacements.
- Troubleshoot network, hardware, and connectivity issues.
- Ensure all work is documented accurately and completed to company standards.
- Liaise directly with customers, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Follow health and safety procedures while working on customer sites.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Previous experience in a Field Engineer or IT Support Engineer role.
- Experience installing and terminating structured cabling.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, switching, wireless).
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Desirable
- Experience working within an MSP environment.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Fibre installation and termination experience.
- Knowledge of firewalls and network security.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco qualifications.
