About the Role

As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for the assembly, inspection, maintenance and repair of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), ensuring they are safe, reliable and mission-ready. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, you will diagnose faults, perform scheduled maintenance and support testing to maximise system performance and availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, maintenance and repair of UAVs and associated ground equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and avionics faults.
  • Conduct pre-flight, post-flight and scheduled maintenance inspections.
  • Replace, calibrate and test components including motors, servos, flight controllers, sensors and payloads.
  • Support flight testing and investigate technical issues identified during operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with quality and safety procedures.

  • Qualification in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience maintaining, repairing or assembling UAVs, aircraft, robotics or electromechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical and avionics systems.
  • Ability to diagnose faults using test equipment and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with hand tools, soldering and electronic assemblies.
  • Familiarity with flight control systems such as PX4 or ArduPilot is desirable.
