Responsibilities

  • To ensure equipment is repaired, serviced, and maintained in line with the maintenance plan and with manufacturers’ recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, customers, equipment operators, equipment owners, and distributors.
  • Maintain regular contact with the Service Centre.
  • Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles while working.
  • To liaise with the Service Desk to meet each customer’s specific requirements while achieving SLAs.
  • To report relevant operational issues to the Head Office.
  • Customer Service: To identify and meet the needs of all customers and to offer advice, give support, and problem solve when required.
  • Accurate control and replenishment of personal stock holding.
  • Communicate and liaise internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • Administration: To ensure all maintenance records/paperwork are kept in line with company requirements and submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety and quality management both internally and at external customers' premises.
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities, providing relevant reports and information.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the continued effective performance of the role.

Knowledge Base

  • Product/Technical: A sound knowledge of weigh labelling equipment.
  • Engineering (electrical): Qualifications preferably to ONC level or equivalent.
  • An understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
  • IT and Communication Systems: Possesses a sound working knowledge of PCS.
  • Partners: Develop a thorough understanding of key partners of the business.

Skill Set

  • IT: The ability to effectively use computer technology in meeting the needs of the business.
  • Telephone: Proficient use of the telephone, using a professional style in line with the company standards of telephone communication.
  • Must have electrical qualifications (ONC).
  • Mechanically competent to a high standard.
  • An understanding of PLCs and be able to upload and download programs.
  • Relationship Management: Able to effectively represent the Company whilst meeting the needs of the business partner. Develop partner relationships through trust and performance.
  • Self-management: Flexibly prioritising, planning, and monitoring own activity, performance, and progress.
  • Entrepreneurial, innovative thinker able to look at different solutions to business and operational problems.

Working Hours

  • Basic hours are Monday to Friday 08:15 to 16:30. However, as the role is a field-based role, engineers will be expected to work overtime at short notice.
