About The Role

The Customer Field Engineer is responsible for delivering, installing, maintaining and supporting BT products and services at customer locations. Working directly with business and public sector customers, the engineer ensures services are installed and repaired safely, efficiently and to agreed service levels whilst providing an excellent customer experience.

The role requires a combination of technical expertise, customer service skills and a strong commitment to safety and compliance standards.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Deliver exceptional customer service during every customer interaction.
  • Install, configure and maintain BT network and communication services.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across voice, data and networking solutions.
  • Keep customers informed of progress, timescales and service restoration activities.
  • Ensure customer sites are left safe, secure and operational following all visits.
  • Represent BT professionally at all times.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Excellent communication and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience in telecommunications, networking or field engineering.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Understanding of IP networking and customer premises equipment.
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper or similar networking technologies.
  • Fibre, copper and structured cabling experience.
  • Knowledge of WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi technologies.
  • Security clearance (SC) or eligibility to obtain clearance.
