Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Location: The White Horse Federation, Plymouth Street, Swindon, SN1 2LB (with regular travel to school sites)

Salary: Hay Q Lower (Points 29–33) £41,177 - £45,529

About The Role

The White Horse Federation is seeking an experienced and proactive Field HR Manager to join our Central HR Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys building strong partnerships, providing expert employee relations support and supporting operational HR to make a meaningful impact across a large and diverse Multi-Academy Trust.

As a Field HR Manager, you will work closely with Headteachers and leaders across a group of schools, acting as a trusted HR partner and providing comprehensive advice and guidance on a wide range of people matters. From managing employee relations cases such as sickness absence to advising on employment legislation and Trust policies, you will play a pivotal role in helping leaders make informed decisions and achieve positive outcomes for their teams.

Alongside your school-facing responsibilities, you will work closely with colleagues across our Central HR Services teams, supporting payroll, recruitment, wider HR projects and contributing to the delivery of an efficient, customer-focused HR service. We are looking for a confident and pragmatic HR professional who enjoys working collaboratively, building relationships and finding practical solutions to people challenges.

If you are passionate about delivering excellent HR support and want to join an ambitious organisation where your expertise can make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.

All About You

Do you have what it takes to join us? The Field HR Manager we are looking for will be:

  • An experienced HR professional, with a solid understanding of employee relations matters such as absence management, flexible working requests, family leave, probation and performance matters; as well as experience of supporting operational HR in areas such as payroll, recruitment, TUPE processes and wider HR projects.
  • Confident in providing practical, professional and solution-focused advice to leaders and employees.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organised, with excellent planning skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable working across multiple sites and building productive partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office, Teams and other HR systems to maintain accurate records and case management information.
  • Committed to equality, inclusion and maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Able to travel to various school sites, so access to a car for business use is essential (mileage expenses between schools can be claimed).
  • Able to work on-site at our Central Offices in Swindon when not visiting schools.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
