Field Officer – Electronic Monitoring (Electronic Tagging) Taunton


Location & Hours

  • Location: Taunton
  • Hours: Day shifts, 8am–5pm (37.5 hrs per week)
  • Live requirement: Must reside in (or very near) TA and BA postcode areas due to operational needs.
  • Rota system: 10–12 weeks’ notice for shifts; covers days, weekends, and bank holidays.

About the Role

You’re compassionate, resilient, and care deeply—qualities we look for in our Field Officers. In this essential role, you’ll visit individuals in their homes to install and oversee electronic monitoring tagging equipment. Alongside Monitoring Support Officers, you’ll:

  • Build trust and confidence in individuals new to the justice system or recently released from prison.
  • Provide reassurance about safety for offenders and the public, promoting community reintegration.
  • Reduce systemic pressure on prisons by supporting compliant offenders.
  • Take part in 3 weeks of structured training, with on-the-j job shadowing/mentorship until fully independent.
  • Work averagely 37.5 hrs/week, with flexibility as required (e.g., occasional start/finish variations).

What You Bring
