Field Sales Consultant

SMART Utilities, a key division of the Bionic Group, powers our nationwide Field Sales team. As trusted local advisors, SMART Field Sales Consultants connect directly with customers in their communities, building relationships and delivering tailored solutions face-to-face. About the role As a Field Sales Consultant, you’ll play a key role in driving commercial growth across your territory by identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities. Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close, you’ll deliver tailored solutions across energy, telecoms and insurance, working closely with our pricing and operations teams to deliver the right outcomes for customers. This is a consultative, relationship-led sales role where credibility, resilience, and commercial acumen matter. You’ll engage directly with small business owners, understanding their challenges and identifying opportunities to add value through expert advice and tailored recommendations. Success in this role comes from building strong local relationships, generating repeat business and referrals, and consistently delivering against commercial targets. You’ll also provide valuable market insight and customer feedback to help shape future sales strategy and continuous improvement across the business. What makes this opportunity exciting? This is an opportunity for an experienced sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and enjoys the challenge of winning new business while building long-term customer relationships. The interview process? Initial call with our Talent Acquisition Team Interview with the Divisional Sales Manager – combining role-based competency questions and a task (guidance provided ahead of time) A field-based observation session – approx. 2-3 hours in the field with one of our Regional Sales Managers About you To be considered for this role, you’ll need to demonstrate your: Proven track record in a field sales, direct sales or business development role, with experience consistently achieving or exceeding targets. Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify customer needs and sales opportunities. Confidence building relationships and influencing decision-makers face-to-face. Self-motivation, resilience, and a proactive approach to generating new business. Ability to manage your own territory, pipeline, and time effectively. Strong negotiation and closing skills with a consultative sales approach. Experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
