Field Sales Representative – Electrical Wholesaler Account Management

Location: London & South East Region

Compensation: Up to £40,000 basic salary £6,000 car allowance Uncapped bonus structure Additional benefits:

About the Role

This field-based sales role is tailored for candidates already working within the electrical industry, seeking to advance into a commercial account management position.

  • Centred around nurturing customer relationships with electrical wholesalers, boosting product visibility, and supporting branch teams across the London & South East region.
  • Focuses on building long-term partnerships, rather than aggressive selling, positioning you as the brandface in your territory.
  • Autonomy to manage your own sales territory, drive growth, and actively contribute to the company’s strategic development.

Responsibilities

Sales & Account Development

  • Develop and sustain high-value relationships with electrical wholesalers at branch, regional, and group levels.
  • Promote the full product and service range across the entire wholesale network.
  • Increase product visibility, stock presence, and sales in distributor locations.
  • Identify and capitalise on new stocking opportunities or account expansion.
  • Meet agreed quarterly sales and activity targets within your territory.

Branch Engagement & Training

  • Conduct regular branch visits across the London & South East region.
  • Deliver product training and sales support to branch managers, counter staff, and field teams.
  • Participate in product launches, promotions, and marketing initiatives to drive engagement.
  • Ensure strong product promotion within all branch facilities.

Contractor & Project Support

  • Collaborate with branch teams to discover local contractors, installers, and project opportunities.
  • Assist wholesalers with targeting local projects and strategic sales initiatives.
  • Offer technical guidance and commercial support to contractors and distributors.
  • Develop joint business opportunities aligned with distributor partnerships.

Reporting & Market Intelligence

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and realistic sales forecasts.
  • Monitor competitors, pricing trends, and market shifts to drive informed strategy.
  • Provide detailed sales activity reports, including opportunities and market feedback.
  • Work closely with internal sales, technical, and marketing teams to support business growth.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Essential:

    • Proven experience within the electrical industry.
    • Hands-on experience in working with electrical wholesalers or distribution networks.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Commercial awareness to identify and pursue growth opportunities.
    • Ability to manage an independent territory with minimal supervision.
    • Full UK driving licence (required for territory-based role).
