Field Sales Manager – Nationwide UK
Reports to: Head of Sales & Brand Manager
Description:
A rare opportunity to join a long-established and respected distributor in an exciting newly created role.
The company distributes leading cycling parts, accessories and sports nutrition brands to specialist retailers across the UK. Its customers include independent fitness, gym, running, cycling, health-food, leisure, and other high-footfall retail environments.
The Brand Sales Representative will drive distribution, visibility, and rate of sale across targeted UK retail channels. The position will focus on securing new distribution, executing brand-led sales plans, and ensuring products are positioned effectively within impulse, convenience, fitness, and on-the-go environments. The role will also support new product launches, deliver high-quality in-store execution, and build strong retailer relationships to maximize long-term brand growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Distribution
- Secure new distribution across independent retail, fitness, gym, running, cycling, health-food, leisure, and high-footfall impulse environments.
- Support the company’s existing retail and sub-distribution customer base.
- Deliver agreed distribution targets and maintain consistent ranging across priority products.
- Support national account plans through effective field execution and local activation.
- Manage sales from both van-based and warehouse stock.
- Maintain accurate control of allocated stock.
Customer Engagement and Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with store managers, buyers, and key decision-makers.
- Present a clear and compelling product and brand proposition.
- Act as a trusted brand ambassador, communicating the brand’s values, credentials, and key selling points.
- Identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.

New Product Launches and Activation
- Execute new product launch plans, securing fast distribution and strong in-store visibility.
- Support product trials through sampling, launch promotions, and tactical activation.
- Communicate how new products and formats can provide incremental category growth.
- Gather customer feedback following product launches.
Merchandising and In-Store Excellence
- Maintain strong on-shelf availability, visibility, and product placement.
- Deliver agreed placement strategies, including countertop displays, secondary locations, and impulse zones.
- Improve rate of sale through effective store-level execution.
- Ensure merchandising activity remains consistent with brand standards.
Sales Analysis and Reporting
- Track and report distribution gains, promotional activity, and activation performance.
- Provide regular field feedback covering competitor activity, customer insights, and ranging opportunities.
- Use data and commercial insight to prioritize opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer, visit, and sales records.
Collaboration
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and brand teams to align field activity with the wider commercial strategy.
- Share successful approaches, customer feedback, and market insights with the wider sales team.
- Represent the company and its brands professionally at trade shows, customer meetings, and internal events.
Requirements:
This is a field-based role providing nationwide UK coverage as part of a wider sales team. Regular visits to the company’s Midlands headquarters will be required for meetings and stock management, so the role would suit someone based in or with easy access to the Midlands.

Desired Skills and Experience:
- Previous field sales or brand-sales experience, ideally within FMCG, convenience, impulse, sports nutrition, or a related market.
- A track record of growing distribution and improving in-store execution.
- Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of customer needs and shopper behavior.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-focused.
- Comfortable working independently and managing a nationwide territory.
- Full UK driving license.
