Self-Employed Field Sales Representative (Commission-Based Only) – Earnings £40,000–£50,000+
Location: Field-based, territory-defined Employment Type: Self-Employed (Commission-Only) Potential Earnings: £40,000–£50,000+ annually (uncapped upsides possible)
About the Role
Do you thrive on hard work where your income reflects your effort? As a Field Sales Representative for SumUp, you’ll connect with small businesses in your local community and introduce them to innovative payment and POS solutions—helping them grow and building serous recurring income for yourself.
This is a 100% field-based role, combining face-to-face interactions, strong relationship-building, and problem-solving selling—no payments experience required. If you’ve previously excelled in customer-facing roles, selling (B2B/B2C), or roles demanding rapid rapport-building, you’re ready to apply.
Earning Potential
Here’s how your income works:
- Per business sign-up:
- 50% upfront commission (avg. £500 per sale)
- Recurring income (€€% up to 5 years):
- 25% commission on ongoing service fees.
- 75% of a customer’s total value paid in year one.
- Optional upsell commission on hardware (card machines, POS software, etc.).

Core Responsibilities
You’ll be:
- Meeting local SMEs—cafés, salons, independent shops, restaurants—and more.
- Building trust-based relationships with business owners.
- Demonstrating simple, effective payment/advertising solutions that solve real pain points.
- Managing your own sales pipeline and customer base.
- Turning sales meetings into long-term clients and advocates in your community.
