Field Sales Representative

Self-Employed Field Sales Representative – Commission-Only Role (Remote-Based, Fully Field-Based)

About the Role

Join SumUp as a Self-Employed Field Sales Representative, helping small businesses grow through smarter payment and retail solutions—while building your own recurring income.

This role is 100% field-based:

  • Meet business owners (cafés, salons, shops, restaurants, gyms, etc.)
  • Understand their challenges and recommend practical solutions
  • Build long-term relationships

No prior financial experience needed! You only need: ✔ Customer-facing sales or relational experience (retail, hospitality, B2B/B2C) ✔ Motivation to excel – if you enjoy problem-solving and building connections, you’re a great fit.

How You Get Paid

  • 50% upfront commission on each new business sign-up (~£500 average first deal)
  • 25% recurring commission for up to 5 years
  • ~75% of a customer’s lifetime value paid in just the first year
  • Extra commission on hardware sales (card machines, POS systems, etc.)

Your Daily Responsibilities

As a Field Sales Rep, you’ll:

  • Meet local SMEs (small businesses) and start conversations
  • Build long-term trust with business owners

  • Manage your own territory & sales pipeline
  • Turn initial inquiries into repeat customers
  • Become a recognised expert in your community
