About the Role

Macgregor Black are partnering with a leading toy and giftware company on the search for a Field Sales Representative.

Role Overview

  • Location: Permanent role covering the North of England and Scotland
  • Focus: Driving sales growth by:
    • Developing relationships with independent retail customers
    • Identifying new business opportunities
    • Acting as a brand ambassador to support customers with:
      • Right product ranges
      • Commercial solutions
      • Maximising sales performance

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of independent retail accounts across the North of England and Scotland
  • Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within territory boundaries
  • Conduct regular customer visits to build long-term relationships
  • Present new product launches and seasonal collections to customers
  • Deliver against sales targets, revenue objectives, and KPIs
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and maximise sales opportunities
  • Monitor:
    • Competitor activity
    • Market trends
    • Customer feedback
  • Maintain accurate:
    • Customer records
    • Sales forecasts
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service
  • Represent the business at:
    • Trade shows
    • Industry events (as required)

What We’re Looking For in the Right Candidate

Essential Criteria

  • Proven field sales experience in:
    • Toys
    • Giftware
    • Children’s products
    • Stationery
    • Greetings cards
    • Similar consumer product categories
  • Strong experience selling into independent retail accounts
  • Demonstrable track record of:
    • Achieving sales targets
    • Exceeding performance goals
  • Key skills:
    • Exceptional relationship-building
    • Strong communication skills
    • Adept negotiation ability
  • Commercial mindset with a proactive approach to business development
  • Highly organised, capable of managing a large geographic territory
  • Full UK driving licence with willingness to regular regional travel
  • Advantageous: Existing networks within the independent retail sector
