Job Description: Field Service Engineer, Electrical Engineer
Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer, with either industrial, medical, life sciences, or healthcare sector experience? We welcome applications from a variety of different technical field service professionals who are flexible to be based on site at our brand new centre in Southampton, and travel around the South to visit our hospital customers and mobile medical units as required. Full training and development are provided.
Basic Salary
A GBP 42,000 - A GBP 50,000
Benefits
- A GBP 115 monthly cost-of-living allowance.
- A GBP 8,000 on-call allowances (annually).
- Time and a half for overtime (Mon-Fri) and double time for overtime (Sunday).
- Transit Van.
- Fuel Card.
- 5% Company Pension Contribution.
- 25 days holiday (Plus Statutory Days).
Location
Southampton (50% of the time) with field visits (local and national) the rest of the time. (2 days per week will be spent travelling)

As an integral part of our exciting new Southampton service centre, this new position is a site and field-based role visiting customer sites (hospitals) and mobile units, providing the necessary technical service support for our southern customer base.

You will also be required to occasionally visit our Northern HQ for training and development.
Key Responsibilities: Field Service Engineer, Electrical Engineer : Industrial, Medical, Health Care
You Will
- Be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of electrical systems within mobile medical and modular units.
- Provide inspections, testing, and repairs on systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
- Participate in 24-hour on-call rota (1 week in every 4), providing emergency support when required.
- Immerse yourself in our extensive 12-month training program.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
Person Specification: Field Service Engineer, Electrical Engineer : Industrial, Medical, Life Sciences, Health Care
You Will Have The Following Characteristics and Experiences
- Either NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Installation.
- With 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671).
- 2391 inspection and testing or equivalent.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, servicing, and fault finding.
- Proven experience carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, in either site-based, or field-based roles.
- Health care exposure such as NHS or private hospitals environment (preferred).
