Field Service Engineer
Field Service Engineer
We are recruiting a Field Service Engineer on behalf of a well-established, internationally recognised manufacturer of precision industrial weighing and packaging equipment. Their systems are deployed across the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, and agricultural sectors globally, and their UK customer base is growing.
This is a genuine development opportunity. The business is willing to invest in training the right Field Service Engineer from the ground up, so while sector experience is beneficial, it is not essential. If you are mechanically or electromechanically skilled, enjoy working independently at customer sites, and want to build a long-term career with an industry leader, we want to hear from you.
The Role
- Installing, commissioning, and carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on high-specification industrial weighing and packaging machinery
- Attending customer sites across the region to diagnose faults and return equipment to full operation as quickly as possible
- Acting as the face of the business on-site: building strong relationships with customers and managing their expectations throughout the visit
- Completing accurate service documentation following each job
- Liaising with internal technical support when required and feeding back any additional service or upgrade opportunities

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
