We are seeking a Customer-focused, technically curious, and proactive Field Service Engineer to join us. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, building strong customer relationships, and working with cutting-edge healthcare technology—radically improving patient outcomes.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
As Field Service Engineer, you will be the trusted technical resource supporting our customers across your assigned territory to ensure their Abbott Molecular diagnostic systems operate optimally.
- Install and commission Abbott Molecular diagnostic systems in customer laboratories and facilities.
- Provide preventative maintenance, hardware servicing, software upgrades, and system repairs on-site to minimise downtime.
- Resolve technical issues remotely and in-person, offering proactive and efficient solutions.
- Collaborate with Customers to implement training programmes, ensuring teams can confidently operate updated systems.
- Partner closely with Application Specialists, Customer Service, and Commercial Teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Cultivate strong relationships with laboratories and healthcare providers, positioning Abbott as a valued strategic partner.
- Take part in technical workshops, expert forums, and service meetings, fostering continuous learning and knowledge-sharing.
- Support service operations across your designated area, while occasionally assisting colleagues in neighbouring regions.
- Represent Abbott as a brand ambassador, embodying our core values of innovation, care, and people-first collaboration.

Requirements & Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate:
A degree, HNC/HND, diploma, or equivalent qualification in any of the following fields:
- Scientific disciplines
- Engineering (including biomedical or electronics)
- Healthcare/biomedical fields
- Laboratory science/technologies
- Or a related technical sector
Highly valued but not essential:
- Prior experience in field service, diagnostics, healthcare technology, or laboratory environments.
- A background in customer-facing technical support roles.
Essential Criteria:
- Proficient English communication skills (fluency required).
- Additional foreign language proficiency is a plus but not a must.
- Current full driving licence and willingness to travel across your assigned territory.
