Field Service Engineer – Permanent, Full-Time Salary: Competitive (depending on experience) Location: Stirling & Surrounding Areas


About The Role

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to support our operations in the Stirling area, joining our team of professionals. This field-based role involves:

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing Volvo construction equipment at customer sites
  • Ensuring a first-class experience for both internal and external customers
  • Balancing technical expertise with a commercially focused approach, identifying service opportunities and delivering efficient repairs

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults using technical expertise and diagnostic tools, providing clear guidance to customers
  • Perform on-site service, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo construction and related equipment
  • Work to quotations and time guides, identifying additional work opportunities where possible
  • Complete accurate reports, job cards, and timesheets in real time
  • Promote additional services and aftermarket solutions to enhance customer satisfaction

About You

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience:

  • Engineer qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Plant, HGV, or similar)
  • Proven experience in maintaining and repairing heavy plant or construction equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Electrical systems
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work flexibly (inclusions overtime and call-out availability)

Desirable:

  • Experience with welding or fabrication
  • Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, or emissions systems
