Are you a skilled, customer-focused professional seeking a rewarding opportunity? We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team. This role will cover Aylesbury or Hertfordshire (HP / AL Postcode). You'll deliver exceptional service, leveraging technical expertise and communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction while adhering to safety standards and company procedures.
Attending customers' premises to Conduct Service, Repair, Commissioning & Inspections to Market leading Wastewater treatment plants, Pump stations, Oil Interceptors & Rainwater Harvesting Systems. As a Field Service Engineer, you'll tackle diverse tasks in an environment that values growth. Whether troubleshooting in the field, excelling in customer service, or undergoing advanced training, each day offers new challenges and rewards.
What We Offer

- Working Hours: 8:00 AM-5:30 PM, Monday to Friday (42 hours/week).

- Overtime Rates: Time and a third (Mon-Fri outside regular hours); Time and a half on optional Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities
- Attending customers' premises to Conduct Service, Repair, Commissioning & Inspections to Market leading Wastewater treatment plants, Pump stations, Oil Interceptors & Rainwater Harvesting Systems.
- Perform Confined Space Entry for Internal Inspections / Repairs.
- Diagnosing faults to repair or replace the equipment with an emphasis on first time first fix FTFF so customers have peace of mind.
- Communicating issues, problems, and solutions through escalation points.
- This position is mainly lone working.
- Ensure customers are contacted first thing with ETA and keep up to date of any delays.
- Carry out a visual risk assessment on each job as required and raise any concerns with line manager.
- Provide feedback on parts used in line with procedures to complete a task ensuring at all times parts are pre-paid when dealing with an end-user.
- Deliver good customer service at all times and discuss with customer on all recommendations onsite including service plans and upgrade options and note these on your report.
- Carry out monthly stock takes on van stock or stock stored at lockups.
- Carry out on-the-job training and partake in personal training courses as required.
- Liaise with customer on site as required and keep them abreast of any issues/updates on their expectations and seek office involvement where additional unforeseen costs will require paid for.
- Ensure all company property and vehicles are maintained in line with company policy.

Essential Criteria
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Physically fit for the job (medical assessment may apply).
- Clean driving license and undertake a driving licence check.
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and PDA software.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in challenging environments.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Criteria
- Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 2 Years' Experience working in Wastewater/Water Industry.
- Familiarity with the wastewater industry, including sewage systems.
- Proven experience working with Sewage Treatment/Pump Stations.
