Job Description
Technical Service Engineer (Forklift & Equipment Repair)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner while maintaining accurate documentation under Health and Safety and Quality procedures.
- Work to a planned schedule for service and maintenance jobs, ensuring inspections are carried out at client premises.
- Monitor van stock and part availability to support day-to-day fleet maintenance.
- Perform inspections and ensure all repaired/maintained trucks are safety-compliant.
- Complete job sheets, timesheets, purchase requisitions, and parts paperwork within required deadlines.
- Take full responsibility for equipment, tools, and devices (e.g., van, laptop, tablet) and maintain them in optimum working condition for assigned tasks.
- Adhere to strict schedules, deadlines, and operational protocols.

This role requires training in one of the following areas to begin, with further corporate product training provided by Crown:
- Mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Hydraulics
Candidates must demonstrate:
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- High standards of organisation, resourcefulness, and problem-solving.
- Adaptability to handle diverse workloads under pressure.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proven fault-finding and repair skills in a practical setting.
- Equivalent to GCSE-standard in English and mathematics (Grade C or better).
- Experience applying Health & Safety standards in workshop or industrial environments.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
- Strong organisational skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise deadlines.
- Experience working independently or as part of a team.
- Clear and effective communication (written & verbal).
- Consultation and negotiation skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to diverse operational needs.
- High motivation, resilience, and a proactive, can-do attitude—ideal for fast-paced environments.

Desirable Skills:
- Prior experience within a forklift service or maintenance context (not mandatory).
- A relevant engineering qualification.
Vacancy Details
Working Hours:
- Monday–Friday, 08:00 AM–16:30 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
