About The Role
As a Field Service Engineer at Virgin Media O2, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining reliable broadband, TV, and phone services for millions of customers. This hands-on, customer-focused role requires a mix of technical expertise and relationship-building.
You’ll:
- Install, maintain, and repair services in customers’ homes.
- Tackle technical faults with accuracy and calm.
- Collaborate with colleagues and customers to ensure seamless solutions.
- Work outdoors in all weather and at heights, prioritising safety at every step.
You’ll start with comprehensive training and support, pairing hands-on experience with ongoing coaching.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Your role will involve:
- Installing and repairing broadband, TV, and phone services.
- Diagnosing faults efficiently and explaining solutions clearly.
- Ownership of tasks from start to finish.
- Ensuring safety in outdoor and height-related work.
- Balancing technical problem-solving with excellent customer care.
Our Ways of Working
This is a field-based role, balancing independence with teamwork. Key details include:
- Required to live within your assigned postcode area.
- Hours: 37.5 hrs/six days (Mon–Sat), shifts 7.5–10 hrs/week.
- Platform: Virgin Media O2’s broadband, mobile, TV, and entertainment networks.

Requirements
The Must Haves
To succeed, you’ll need:
- A valid full UK manual driving licence.
- Confidence working outdoors, at heights and in customer homes.
- A safety-first mentality.
- Ability to work independently while managing deadlines.
What Matters Most
- Previous technical, engineering, or installation experience is helpful, but not essential.
