Field Service Engineer – Network Health Team

About the Role
A hands-on, field-based position focused on repairing, maintaining, and supporting our parcel lockers (APMs) across client sites. Key responsibilities include:
- Break-fix and maintenance of machines
- Software configuration and upgrade implementation
- Quality control and technical support for employees/subcontractors
- Development of new solutions and updates to technical documentation

- Diagnosing and repairing parcel locker machines on site to minimise downtime
- Performing software and firmware upgrades to improve reliability and efficiency
- Reconfiguring and installing electronic/electromechanical systems securely
- Reporting on repairs via internal communication channels
- Managing tools/components for locker maintenance
- Quality assurance for technical work, adhering to standards and contracts
- Providing technical training/support to employees and subcontractors
- Researching and developing new machine solutions
- Updating and preparing technical manuals and documentation
Location Note: The role requires visits to the Hemel Hempstead office and work primarily in the Blackburn/Bolton area. Standard hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday. A company van and tools will be provided.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer (electrical/mechanical)
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter) and hand tools
- Experience in software configuration, firmware updates, and hardware maintenance
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including technical training
- Capability to manage tasks efficiently across diverse teams (including international subcontractors)
- Attention to detail for quality control and documentation
- Ability to travel for service visits (including occasional international trips)

- Prior exposure to parcel locker systems (or similar electromechanical devices)
- Familiarity with organisational IT tools
