Field Service Engineer - Cardiff Newport

Field Service Engineer

Location: South Wales - Cardiff/Newport areas

Overview

OTE: £40-50k+ We’re recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join our team, covering Cardiff and the surrounding areas.

This role is perfect if you’ve worked in a hands-on, practical environment, where using tools, identifying faults, and operating independently are second nature. Although you don’t need a traditional engineering background, prior exposure to electrical work, carpentry, mechanical tasks, or installation-based roles is advantageous. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Installing, servicing, and repairing stairlifts in customers’ homes
  • Managing your workload effectively while maintaining a professional, customer-focused approach

Your success depends on both technical skills and soft qualities:

  • Driving to exceed performance goals
  • Organising your schedule and time management
  • Delivering a positive, professional experience for customers

Ideal Candidate

This role is tailored to someone who thrives:

  • Working independently while contributing to a strong team
  • Being flexible, including willingness to work overtime and take on a 1-in-4 on-call rota (paid if called out)
  • Enjoying a dynamic workday with autonomy to shape their schedule

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
