Field Service Engineer
Location: East Midlands - Covering LE/CV/NG/DE postcode areas
OTE: £40-50k+
We're recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join our team, covering the East Midlands in the LE/CV/NG/DE areas.
You don't need to come from a traditional engineering background to succeed here. This role is ideal if you've worked in a hands-on, practical environment and are comfortable using tools, fault-finding and working independently. Experience involving electrical work, joinery, mechanical tasks or installation-based roles is beneficial and full training is provided.
You'll spend your day installing, servicing and repairing our stairlifts in customers' homes. Just as important as technical ability is your drive to do a great job, manage your own workload and deliver a positive, professional customer experience.
This is a role for someone who enjoys owning their day, planning their time effectively and pushing themselves to succeed. A full, clean driving licence is required as you'll be travelling within your region, and you'll take part in a 1-in-4 on-call rota, with additional payments for call-outs.
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm
- Regular, consistent overtime available
- Weekend availability
- 1 in 4 on-call rota for evenings and weekends (paid if called out)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
