Field Service Engineer

RECRUITMENTiQ is currently working in partnership with a supplier of new and used Agricultural, Construction & Industrial equipment across Scotland and the UK.
We are a well-established and growing business specialising in the supply, service and maintenance of telescopic handlers, forklifts and a wide range of plant equipment. Role Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of telescopic handlers, forklifts and other plant machinery. You'll provide expert technical support to customers, ensuring their equipment remains safe, reliable and operating at peak performance.
Whether you're already working within the plant industry or come from an agricultural, automotive or HGV background, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills with manufacturer training and long-term career prospects.
You will initially be based at our Workshop in West Linton, you will then progress to be field based covering Central Scotland and the Scottish Borders.

- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs and maintenance on telescopic handlers, forklifts and plant equipment in line with company and manufacturer standards.
- Attend customer sites to complete routine servicing, inspections and breakdown repairs in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify potential issues and carry out preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
- Complete service reports, job cards and associated documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining work completed and any recommendations for future maintenance.
- Liaise with the internal service team regarding parts, scheduling and job updates.
- Support and mentor new team members when required.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Service Engineer, Service Technician or similar role within a mechanical, plant, agricultural, automotive or related environment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements relating to workshop and on-site work.

We welcome applications from candidates with qualifications and experience as:
- Agricultural Engineers
- Plant Fitters / Plant Mechanics
- HGV Technicians
- Automotive Technicians / Dealership Technicians
- Engineers or Technicians looking to broaden their skills and develop within the plant equipment sector
Full UK driving licence (company van provided).
Relevant engineering or technical qualification (such as NVQ or City & Guilds) is desirable but not essential for candidates with strong practical experience.

- Competitive salary of £28,420 - £39,000 per year, depending on experience.
