Join Us – Field Service Engineer (Vacuum Technique Service)
At General Vacuum Europe, part of the Atlas Copco Group, we’re looking for a dedicated Field Service Engineer level II to join our Europe General Vacuum Customer Center, to help drive the growth of our Vacuum Technique Service program by ensuring our customers receive outstanding support every time.
Your mission is to deliver high-quality field service support for Edwards and Atlas Copco products, encompassing installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities. The position is grounded in a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, requiring extensive travel and regular overnight stays domestically and also on occasions across the EMEA region to meet service and customer obligations. Alongside technical expertise, the role plays a key part in coaching and supporting colleagues, helping to ensure consistent service delivery and a positive customer experience. You will ideally be located in the Leeds/ York region.
Responsibilities Include
- Deliver on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Edwards and Atlas Copco products across the EMEA region, with regular overnight travel.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting, resolving or escalating issues within contractual SLAs.
- Build strong customer relationships and act as the key technical interface, feeding insights to service sales and support teams.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards, applying effective risk controls at all times.
- Accurately document service activity and produce clear reports using Edwards systems and platforms.
- Train, coach, and support colleagues and customers in line with global best practices.
- Operate and configure software and monitoring tools to optimise product performance.
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.

To succeed, you will need
- Strong customer focus, delivering solutions that meet expectations and timelines while aligning with Edwards’ standards.

- Computer literate, capable of data entry and report writing.
- Understands technical documentation, including drawings and specifications.
- Education: Degree or formal qualification in mechanical, electromechanical, or electronics discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in field service within a related industry, ideally customer-facing.
- Language: English, other languages are an asset.

Job location
This role is fully remote due to the travel requirements of the role. Location: Leeds/ York region.
