Field Service Engineer (m/f/d)

Field Service Engineer (m/f/d) – Manchester Area, United Kingdom

Nordson Product Assembly, a global leader in precision dispensing, fluid management, and related technologies, is seeking a highly motivated and talented Field Service Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team in the greater Manchester area, UK. Summary of the Role

Provide technical expertise during the sales process to:

  • Internal teams (sales, technicians, engineers)
  • Customers, both remotely and on-site

Work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where ideas and contributions are valued.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform installation and commissioning of Nordson systems
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and repair of Nordson equipment
  • Train customers on the proper use of Nordson equipment
  • Troubleshoot PA-specific technology, including fault analysis within customer processes
  • Carry out customer tests in collaboration with sales and application technology:
    • On-site
    • In PA lab
  • Participate in stagings (verification of customer specifications, application tests, process parameters)
  • Prepare and submit admin/technical reports promptly
  • Monitor and report on:
    • From new markets
    • Existing market changes
    • Competitor activities (pricing, product updates)
    • Requirements for new/redesigned Nordson hardware
  • Interface with Aftermarket & Sales teams, supporting PA EMEA Customer Project Engineers
    • Ensure onselling opportunities for Nordson PA systems, spare parts, and maintenance contracts
  • Lead customer training (in English and local language)
  • Collaborate on exhibitions, open-houses, and similar events

Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Minimum: Associate’s Degree in Mechatronics (or equivalent)
  • Ideally, long-standing (~5–10+ years of experience) as a Field Service Engineer / Technician

Technical Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Electrical components
    • Hydraulic systems
  • Ability to interpret:
    • Technical drawings
    • Hydraulic/pneumatic schematics
    • Wiring diagrams
  • Preferred: PLC system and interface expertise

Practical Competencies

  • Experience in installation, service, and maintenance
  • Precisely used instrumentation, tools, and specialized equipment
  • Creation of admin/technical reports

Software & Systems Proficiency

  • MS Office (proficient)
  • Experience with SAP

Languages & Communication

  • Fluent in English (written & verbal)
  • Additional language skills (local language) are a great advantage
