Field Service Engineer Inkjet – UK (West Midland)
Job description
We are looking for a highly self-motivated and results-driven Engineer to join our fully remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical service support to customers. Because you will be working independently, your ability to stay focused, manage your time effectively, and take ownership of your work is critical to your success.
Main Tasks
- Repair and maintain customer equipment effectively and efficiently.
- Carry out pre installations and installations.
- Provide remote call pre-qualification and attempt remote fix wherever possible.
- Document and report technical issues where necessary; Ensure logging & closure of calls.
- Support the customer in the field mainly in UK/IE, occasionally in Europe.
- Maintain technical and professional expertise, proactively identifying learning opportunities for self and the team through knowledge sharing and attendance of training sessions.
Profile
Technical Expertise: Bachelor’s degree within a technical field or qualified by experience in providing service / managing repairs and installations on Wide Format printing equipment (or similar) is desirable

Demonstrated Remote Experience: Proven track record of thriving in a customer facing work-from-home/field-based role or independent environment.
Self-Motivation: A highly driven mindset with the discipline to maintain focus and meet deadlines without direct supervision.
Communication Skills: Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English; you know how to transform technical information and instructions in an easy to understand and concise language
Problem-Solving and Initiative: Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
IT Skills: Working understanding of common Office IT Applications (MS Word, Excel, email, etc.) Networking, operation system / IT skills are desirable.
Travel: Must be prepared to travel to visit client sites across UK and Ireland. A valid UK driving licence is required; a company car or travel allowance is provided.
Occasional international travel required for training. Flexibility and a valid passport are essential.
