### **About the Role**
Scot JCB is seeking an **experienced **plant/agricultural engineer** to join our team, based in the **Caithness and Sutherland** region. This **field-based role** involves direct travel from your home to customer sites, requiring **confidence, independence, and specialist knowledge** in machinery repair and maintenance. Overnight stays on **Orkney and other remote locations** may be necessary from time to time.

- Field Repair & Maintenance: Diagnose and repair customer machinery to meet manufacturer specifications, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Documentation: Complete daily paperwork electronically ( tablets/phones) and submit timesheets/job cards.
- Parts Management: Accurately order parts in collaboration with the parts department.
- Supervision Liaison: Work closely with the service supervisor on responsibilities and updates.
- Safety Checks: Inspect equipment for deficiencies or hazards—flagging any issues to management promptly.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We’re looking for a skilled technician with:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ/SVQ in Construction Plant Maintenance or Land-Based Engineering).
- Technical expertise in:
- Construction plant repairs
- Diesel engines/electrics
- Hydraulics
- Transmissions
- Fault-finding using electronic diagnostics
- Fieldwork aptitude: Ability to prioritise tasks, work autonomously, and thrive in unpredictable environments.
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients in diverse settings.
- IT Proficiency: Comfortable working with digital documentation platforms.
- Flexibility & Attitude: An outgoing, proactive approach with resilience for remote/long shifts.
